§ 01 · Canada
From skateboards to the first Addiction surfboards.
Louis Robert founded Addiction Surfboards in Canada. Before surfboards, he built skateboards and snowboards—an early education in curves, materials and flex.
He then moved into shaping, worked in California and Europe and experimented across several board families. His interest in authentic materials and retro design gave the label its first vocabulary.
§ 02 · The shapers
Two paths.
One continuum.
The label’s story is not held inside a date or a logo. It lives in the way an intention moves from one shaper to another without becoming a copy.
The founder
Louis Robert
In 2005 Louis joined the UWL workshop. He returned to North America the following year and now shapes in Canada under the Revolucion label. His time in France opened the way for Addiction’s continuation in Marennes.
The continuum
Renaud Cardinal
Renaud Cardinal has been surfing and shaping for more than 35 years. He now develops Addiction boards with the Marennes team. His work seeks the right balance of line, weight and performance, then tunes it to the surfer’s style.
§ 03 · Marennes
Renaud Cardinal picks up the thread.
In Marennes, Addiction continues its story. Renaud Cardinal and the Shapers Club team develop the range from its original language.
Outlines, rockers, fin setups and finishes are revisited through present-day waves and surfer feedback. The handover becomes a process of refinement and evolution.
§ 04 · Today
Classics, continually reinterpreted.
The current range runs from keel fish to technical noseriders. Every model retains a clear intention, then adapts to the surfer, their waves and the feeling they want.
